It's so hard to say good-bye...

Is that a song? Let me start by saying that I am not a Birmingham. This is Sarah, friend of Sandra and Jamey, and creator of this blog. I imagine that Jamey will not leave this on this blog, but just in case someone else reads it, I wanted to let you know who I am.

In less than a week, Sandra and Jamey will be moving far away to Michigan. Thank goodness it's not Antarctica, but for the sake of an impromptu get together, it might as well be that far away. (Thank the Lord for the Internet and Vonage)

Jason and I met Sandra and Jamey many years ago at Bethesda Baptist Church. I can remember one of the first encounters with them was when Jason and I were doing childcare in Elijah's and Kerrigan's 1 year old room, so Elijah was over 1, but less than 2 years old. Elijah was so sweet and so cute. He just sat in Jason's lap while Jason read to him the entire hour and half. Elijah actually gave us hope that boys could be sweet. Does that sound bad?

Who knew that over the years one of the most awesome family friendships would be created? (Well, the Lord knew, but He didn't tell us.)

What a rare blessing to have two families (children, too) mesh together so well and have such a good time for hours on end!

We are excited for your new adventure, but we will be saddened by your absence. Jason and I were challenged by your convictions, knowledge, faith and testimonies and we delighted in every chance we had to fellowship with your family.

Now, we'll have to see the state of Michigan, when we come up to visit you. The blessing of that will be that we don't have to turn around after six or seven hours of 'dinner' and go home. We can go to sleep and get up the next day and start again. :)
